Learning for life

After all my troubles with my laptop computer after the big typhoon „Cosme“ I experience now another challenge. It’s about using my old E-Mail address. I really don’t know the real reason why I’m actually unable to download my stuff from there. After so many hours of being annoyed with it and trying this and that I decided to create a new account in google.

There I had to learn that the download is not anymore POP but IMAP. But what’s that? Grrr… It’s truly easy to login and to download. While my access is very slow with 56kbits modem I had to learn, that IMAP always connects to the server to show the current Mail. Do you understand? If not, I didn’t either! Google writes about that, that IMAP is much more secure and gives different opportunities in its Mail-Accounts than POP.

Because I still have to learn that learning is for life and there will always be something new, hopefully there will not change to many things at the same time, so that I’ll feel stressed because many things have to be adjusted at the same time. Because I’m unable to use comfortably my E-Mail-Account right now, I made the decision to configure my account in POP. Despite my difficulties I’d kindly recommend to all my friends to use google.mail
