Ability to wait - Warten-Können
Actually I stay almost one year in the Philippines. Many things are almost the same comparing to Switzerland. We have differences too for sure.
In my project I need to take my time. Many people told me: “just take your time”. It sounds very easy and so friendly. In Switzerland I’d say they’re teasing me. But I’m still learning, that it seems they really mean it.
That’s one of the reasons why everything is going slowly here. Sure, also the heat coupled with humidity by over 30 degrees every day is a reason for slowing down. I remember when it was hot in Switzerland while working. Many people were suffering and complaining that it is impossible to work in these conditions.
Now I have to learn, to wait. I have to learn to slow down. I have to learn to be patient. I have to learn to that what I learned in my education not to do. I learned to be efficient always – I learned to be hurrying up all the time.
What I'm still learning is to take my time to understand, time to hear, time to take my time.
This I write while waiting on Christmas in Advent 2007.
